Hello there 2016!

I am super happy to be back on the blogger scene! Why did I stop? It is great to just type your thoughts away and air out your laundry. Not that I want to do that, but it is nice to vent or whine or be happy or just type something off the wall. Can you believe that 2015 is almost over?? I do not know about your household, but Patch of Heaven has not been as happy to see this year leave as we are this one. As most years have hills and valleys, this one has had more valleys than hilltops. But no more! Get on outta here 2015...see ya wouldn't want to be ya! So what are you doing to ring in the new year? Here at Patch of Heaven, we will probably not see 2016 come in. I think staying up and "ringing" it in is over for the old folks. Let's talk resolutions....Rich and I have decided that this year is going to be our get in order year. Finances, house, yard, body, mind and spirit. In years past we have always set unrealistic resolutions and we never meet them and then on this day next year, we will talking about how we did not meet those resolutions. Maybe putting them out there, airing out that laundry, will help....maybe. I guess we will see. Let's get that laundry started!

We are still here!

I know it has almost been a week since my last post. But do not fear, underdog is here.....I mean we are still here. We have had a few things come up this week and I have not taken many photos. Tonight though Rich and Tucker are going to start on his pine derby car, so I will have pictures of that and then this weekend is the big race. Can you tell we are procrastinators or what? Trenton starts his TCAP tests this week. I almost forgot to give him his medicine before we left....that would not have been pretty at all! Rich has all of next week off and we are getting our new roof on! FINALLY!!! After 2 years of going back and forth with our insurance company! We cannot wait. We also are looking forward to Easter. Rich's parents will be here and Neice and Jim will be back from Alaska. The only that will be missing is Granny. She is in Arizona staying with Aunt Betty for the month. We have alot of things coming up, so do not write us off!

Special Olympics!

Well... Trenton and I went to the Rutherford County Special Olympics today. It was great! I was so moved that there were so many people that came out to support these kids. The entire school came out this morning and made signs and cheered the kids out of the driveway.(that is Tucker with the sign) I was bawling in the van. Parents of a special needs children worry how other kids treat their child, because they are "different". It was again...great. Trenton did not participate, he was a spectator, but we both enjoyed it. I hope you look at these pictures and think how you treat the people around you. I hope you see these kids and know that they cannot fix or change themselves. God has given them something more, he has given them something "special".

Meet the Jedi Master...

Well.... I came home from work on Wednesday and was greeted by the Jedi Master Tucker. He told me what his name was, but I do not think I could spell it. He wore this for quite some time, until he got to hot. The force must really awesome to have you wrap yourself in blankets in 75 degree weather!

Check out the camera pics...

Well, the camera is something that the boys like to get and take photos of the oddest things. Trenton loves to take pictures of his creations and Tucker likes to take pictures of his Star Wars dudes. It makes me laugh to see these on the camera, they are too funny not to share! Enjoy!

(If you are lucky enough to have off on Friday)The only bad thing about Thursday is Scouts.I love that Tuck is a scout, but it makes the night short. He loves it though. We are just glad he likes it...again AIN'T HE CUTE???

The new ride....

So, I mentioned that we got new car. Since Rich is not driving 7 miles anymore to work, his old Explorer was really gimping the 22 miles he drives one way. When we went and traded it in the engine light had been on since the last May, we could not get it to pass emisions and it was leaking MAJOR antifreeze. Come to find out he had a cracked radiator, needed a new catalytic conferter and the air conditioner needed to be replaced....well that part we knew.

This is his new Explorer. Whoever had this before us really took care of the inside as well as the outside. Instead or Rich filling up 3 times a week, he only has to fill up once. We love it and Rich really loves it.....and that is all that matters!

Pictures tell the stories...

Here are some photos that we have taken the last couple of months. Halloween, Karley loving her Thanksgiving dinner, our Christmas picture- that did not get mailed out, but will go out for Christmas in July and Tucker getting his first belt loop- so proud! So, I have been on blogger two times just today.....wow this is a record!

Hi there!

Wow....I pulled up my blog spot and was totally depressed! I have not been on here since October 10th? What has the Gharing Clan been up to, you may ask? What has kept you from logging in and taking a few minutes to say hello? Are you just being lazy? Are you still alive???? Well, the Gharing Clan has had a few hills and many valleys the last couple of months. Since October, we have had Halloween, Thanksgiving, lost a job, found a job, celebrated Christmas, New Years, started the new job, had a birthday, got use to job time difference, had a few melt downs, started a new diet, booked our vacation, traded a car in, bought a new car, Karley is now an old women (got neutered), had spring break and just lived. Dang.....I need a Prozac. Let me start from the beginning....Halloween was wonderful. The weather was great for the boys, Trenton was Toothless from How to train your Dragon and Tucker was....wait for it... a clone trooper from Star Wars. We then went right into Thanksgiving, which was a wonderful week in Pennsylvania, no snow but it was still nice. Then on December 3, our world, or so we thought, came to a stop. Rich was let go from Wal-Mart, now known in our home as WalNasty. But God is good, he outstretched that hand to help us up. Rich found a new job right before Christmas. Actually on December 22nd to be exact. He now works for Yates, Inc. which works in the Nissan plant here in Murfreesboro. He works 5 days a week 7:30-5:45. We have had to work out the kinks, but God always has a plan, it has been great for all of us. Christmas was wonderful, I think this is the first year that we actually looked at the true meaning of Christmas, I am sad to say that. God sent his little innocent baby for us! He loves us no matter what! Can I get an Amen.....oops sorry, I am Lutheran, we do not do that.....2011 started and we have been off on a run ever since.

Trenton and Tucker are doing great in school. Trenton will be going to the big Middle School next year, sniff. Tucker....well Tucker was sent to the principles office for the first time, grrr. We will talk about that another time. Rich loves his new job and we have so much more time as a family at night. Tucker and Rich have started doing P90X at night and Trenton and I have had time to cuddle and giggle while we watch Tuck and Dad. Both Rich and I have started to eat better and started working out. I am walking and even started to jog a little....this is something because I have a whole lot to get going.... We have 88 days until we are going..are you ready??? to Disney. I have always wanted to take my boys there. I hope things work out and we are able to go.

Well, I think that catches you up for now on what has been going on at Patch of Heaven. I have missed blogging, I have missed the normalcy of life, but I think it has settled in and hopefully you will be hearing alot from me. Well, I will be typing you will be reading....I hope. Talk to you soon! Over and out from the Patch!

WOW!

This week Trenton is the WOW kid. Wildcat of the week. He gets to be the line leader, the teacher helper and gets to bring cool pictures of his favorite thing for the classroom bulletin board. These are a few of the pictures we sent. His favorite toys, his favorite brother his wonderful parents (gag) and his wonderful dog Karley (well maybe not the wonderful part). I hope this makes the week wonderful for him. If we can get over Monday, then we are good!

It's fall ya'll!!

Well, it is official, the Gharing's have decorated, it is fall. We decorated Patch of Heaven this weekend for fall. I have to say, I was not ready to decorate but after we got going, it looked nice. Of course, it did not feel like fall. It was a little warmer than fall like weather. (like in the 90's) Oh well, we cannot have it all!

Tennessee Division Project

Well the first 5th grade project has come and gone. Trenton had to do The division of Tennessee. Where is Tennessee divided into the 3 divisions? What is each division known for? Well....let me give you a few facts. East Tennessee= what to do there? Graceland, eat BBQ, see the glass pyramid and look for Elvis (this was Trenton's). Middle Tennessee = what to do? Watch MTSU, go to the Grand Ole Opry (Trenton had no idea what this was)and listen to country music. West Tenneessee = what to do? Go to the Smokey Mountains, see Dolly Wood, hike and what else watch Tennessee football (this was not one of Trenton's, guess who? that is right Rich). The project went well and was over and was not that painful, well maybe a little bit....

Why so long???

I just realized that I have not blogged in almost a month.....What is wrong with me? Am I getting bored with blogging? Am I tired of blogging? No, I just totally have not thought about it. Is that crappy or what? I have not even taken any new pictures. Things here at Patch of Heaven have been pretty boring. The boys are doing well in school. Both boys got their mid-semester report today, they were good. Rich is doing good, after his big birthday. Here are some pictures that I did not get on the blog from his birthday. Doesn't he look cute? He just cracks me up! The blogger is doing good. Work has been a little stressful, but at least I have a job. A job is a job....it is a job. Why cannot we win the lottery? I guess you have to play to win...

Happy Birthday My Love!

Well Saturday was Rich's birthday. What did we do?? Have a yard sale. We made a whopping 87.00. What a flop! Anyway....Rich did not want to do anything. He did not want to do anything....at all. So we did not do anything.....at all. After we picked up the yard sale came in and took a shower and watched movies. He may not have wanted to do anything on his birthday this weekend, but next weekend we are going to go to dinner and maybe the fair....we are going to do something....but he got his wish, we did nothing on his birthDAY. Thank you Ricky for being such a good husband father and friend. Looking back on our wedding pictures last night, I married my best friend. I love you for all the blessings you and I share. From patch of heaven to both of our boys.....even Karley. You are always my knight in shining armor. I love you and hope you had a wonderful birthday!

First day of school....

Well first day of school is over. Trenton had a good day in Mrs. Henderson's class and Tucker had a great day in Mrs. Mote's day. We have orientation tonight with MRs. Mote. I hope this year goes well....fingers and toes crossed!

New and improved kitchen!

If you stand around long enough around patch of heaven, you WILL get painted. We are losing square footage in our house, we paint so much. We painted the kitchen this weekend. We did this cool thing around the trim board. We taped a strip and made a white stripe around the floor and door trim. It looks really good. I made new curtains....out of a 3.00 sheet. We are So cheap. The whole project costs about 20.00. What a difference it made! I love it. We love the red and white. It will look awesome at Christmas! :)

Aloha Summer Aloha School..

Well....summer has come to an end. We had the whole gang over on Friday night for Aloha Summer Aloha School....for those that do not speak Hawaiian, Aloha means hello AND goodbye. They had a great time. We made pizza and a tent in the bedroom. They swam all day on Saturday and slept all night Sunday. Everyone had a good time....at least I think.

Peach Jelly...

Well....I got up this morning and played farmer's wife. I boiled, peeled and cut all of our peaches. I made 2 quarts of peach jelly, a first for me. I also froze 3 bags of peaches for pie. I finally used my canning pan that my mother in law gave me. It was not just a decoration. Other than the peach mush boiling and popping in my eye, I did not burn myself once. I am not sure if that is a good thing or not. Usually if you burn, cut or end up bleeding it does not work. I am not sure if my jars sealed or not....I guess I will find out. First time was a learning process. I need to do my jars first....I think I rushed things a bit, but what else is new. I do not think that this is going to sit on the shelf for very long. Tucker wants it on his biscuits this morning. :)
