Iceland!

So Friday night, the sleet came in and covered everything with ice. The trees, house snow and roads were all covered with the slippery stuff. Thank God this was on Saturday! No one had to go anywhere!

Snow Day!

Well the weather men were right! We got about 4 1/2 inches of snow on Friday afternoon. Tucker had an ear infection and Rich had to bring him to the doctor. When they left home we had nothing, this is what they found when they got home. It took me almost an hour and 45 minutes to get home. I left work on Friday about 12:30. It was beautiful, bu I just wanted to get home.

I have such a wonderful mother in law!

Today in the mail, I got this little figurine from my mother in law. She and I have had issues in the past...the long past...but I truly consider her a friend. She is always thinking of me or the other Tennessee Gharing's. I love the figurine! I am taking it to work and putting it on my desk. Thank you for sending this my way. I appreciate it!

Look what was on the camera...

These are some pictures that Rich took of the washer and the sink sprayer. The wash machine is stopping during the cycles and restarting itself and the sink sprayer started to leak. Since we now have the computer with the printer, apparently he decided to take pictures to Lowe's with him, to make sure he gets the right thing. The washer apparently was a bigger job than we wanted to get into, because it is still doing that, but we did get the sprayer fixed. (I will not even get into the cussing fit we had because we did not have a flashlight). What did we do before computers, cameras and printers? It cracks me up that we have used these things more in the last few months than we ever have. Never in a million years, did I think the Gharing household would be up to the 21st century. It is wonderful though to have these things and be able to use them as we do. I see and hear the things on the TV about Haiti, and thank God for the many blessings he has given us in the last year. Not so much the material things, but just being a family, being healthy and having a warm house to come home to each night. I do not think that we thank him as much as we need to, I guess that makes us human. I hope that in the next year, we all take time to smell the roses and appreciate the one that made them for us to smell.

Mr. Excellerated Reader

Yesterday we got some exciting news about Tuckman. He will be in the excellerated reading program at Christiana. He will be able to check out books that are for second graders. We are so proud of him. He loves to read EVERYTHING, from commercials to bumper stickers. Way to go Tuck, you go man!

Trenton the mad scientist!

You know Trenton changes his mind almost everyday on what he is into. Today it is Stitch. He has always said that he wants to be an inventor, but now he wants to be a mad scientist. I think he has watched Lilo and Stitch about 50 times since Friday. It amazes me he can pretty much recite the movie. Tonight when I got home, he greeted me with a pair of goggles on and my salad tongs. Got to love that kids imagination!

Another freebie!

Well the doctors gave me a gift certificate for my birthday to Outback. It was nice, no mess in the kitchen after the circus. We usually do not go to Outback because of the Outrageous prices, but when you have a gift certificate....who cares right? It is not your money!

Ringley, Barnum and Bailey!!!

So, on Friday I won tickets to the Ringley, Barnum and Bailey Circus that came to town. We have seen the circus one other time about 4 years ago. The boys had so much fun. The seats we had were awesome. We were front and center. We could see everything. These free seats were better than the one we paid for last time! The boys right outside the Sommet Center where the circus was at.
This was right in front of our van where we parked.

The starting of the Greatest Show on Earth.

This was actually the end of the show, Tucker LOVED the elephants.

Trenton LOVED the tigers. This guys was nuts. He had some tigers really p***ed at him. I am suprised there was not a brawl.

Are they not cute....

Tada!!!

These horses were really cool. This is also the guy who was also in the arena with the tigers. He apparently is Tarzan.

Again Elephants, and the moon in front of us. This guy had such a pointy head.
We again had alot of fun. It was nice to have a fun family day. We laughed and joked and really enjoyed each other! Thanks MMC for the tickets!

Whoa! I need to catch up!

Well, it has been a whole week and I have not once blogged about anything. I am not going to bore you with the whines and crying of my life, so we will go on to what the kiddos have been doing. It snowed all last weekend. It was beautiful. The temperature was not that beautiful though. We are talking about 12 in the day! The snow did melt on Sunday off the roads so the kids could go to school on Monday.....which they were not happy about. They both got their report cards this week. They both did a great job. Trenton needs to work on music. He does not want to blow on the recorder, so he got a low grade. Whatever. I cannot say I blame him, how many kids have blown on that thing??? GROSS! Tucker did great. He needs to not be too hard on himself. Rich had a full week at work. It is suppose to be in the upper 40's lower 50's. Heatwave! We are going to go out and clean up the yard and go to the dump today. I hope to have a better week and will blog....I do not want to lose my loyal readers!!!

Snow day for the kiddos...

So, the boys had a snow day today. When we woke up there was no snow on the ground though. Living in Tennessee just the threat of bad weather apparently shuts things down. It did finally start to snow about 11:00. My mom kept the boys for us today. Since they did not have hats and gloves they did not get to play when it finally snowed. So when we got home, we let them play for a little while. They did not stay out long because it was 15 when we got home. But they got to play and have fun. Here are few pictures of their 20 minutes.... Karley wanted to help Tucker take his coat off.

This is how we Tennesseans sled ride.

Everybody back to the grind:(

Well, it is back to school and work for everyone tomorrow! BooHoo. I feel like we have not really had a Christmas break, because of all of us being sick. I am excited though to get back into a routine. It is nice to sleep in and really have no place to go or nothing to do, but it is nice to be in a routine. Trenton has already been upset because he has to go back and see Isabella. Tucker is upset because he is going to miss his Star Wars Lego game. OOOOHHHH to only have to worry about that. I just don't want to go to work. P E R I O D!!! At least I have a job and only have to work 4 days this week.....hum it is looking up every minute!

Random pictures..

Here are just a few random pictures I found while clearing off the camera...Enjoy!

Back to reality....boo.

It is back to reality for Rich Monday. He goes back to work. I still have one more day, because the boys are out until Tuesday. I pray he has a good first day back!

Guitar Hero!!!

So...on New Years day we got out the Guitar Hero. Everyone had a try on it, even my mom. Tucker is the pro and was giving everyone pointers. We decided that the next get together we would pull it out again!

Look at the birds!

Rich made these cool bird feeders with our old cake pans. We have had so many cardinals. Other than the blue jays these are my favorite bird. The males red color is so beautiful. They are loving the bird seed we left for them. Looking out the kitchen window and seeing those birds bring back memories of my grandpa. He loved to watch the birds out their kitchen window. After he had his heart transplant, we bought him a bird book so he could still see his birds. Being in the hospital he did not get to see those birds much. I think it is great that I can now look out my kitchen window and see the birds he loved so much. It makes me miss him, but I know that God has sent those birds so I can think back all the fun times we had. It makes me smile and sometimes even laugh out loud.....which does the body good!

Happy 2010!!!!

Happy New Years to everyone. We had a nice day. My family came over and had cabbage rolls and black eyed peas....we need all the good luck we can get. We hope for all that 2010 brings you good fortune and God's love.

happy New Years Eve!

We had our own little ball dropping party for the New Year....the ball was our eyelids, but whatever! We had a good time. We watched 3 Ninjas. Rich made it to 9:30, Trenton made it to 9:45, Tucker made it to 11:00 and I only saw 11:45. Happy 2010! See ya 2009!

Trenton the creator!

Santa brought Trenton Legos. He is always digging for things to create new things. He will take apart pens, twisty ties anything he can make he will do it. This is the bird off of "Up" the movie. Kevin, for those of you that have seen it. If you have not, you need to see it. It will make you cry....dang that Disney! Anyway, Trenton and Tucker have been making lots of interesting things with the Legos. It is so awesome to see what their little minds can do!
