School is tomorrow!

Last night before we go back to school.....I think it is not going to be good. I can already hear the crying jag. Yeah me! Anyway tonight I popped a large bowl of popcorn and we watched Christmas movies. We did not get to watch Clark Griswold again this year, so after Mickey's Twice
upon a Christmas....Clark is going to be singing to me! I love this Christmasey time of year~!!!!!!

We miss the ole girl...

Well as these holidays come near, I think I miss Klondike more. She is at my in-laws house more that I noticed. Then putting up our drcorations....well lets just say she was one of our children. I miss her EVERYDAY! We decorated her burial place like she would have liked it. A presnt to chew on and the lights to stare at.....ah Klondike I love you girl!

Our house lit up!

Well these are not the best looking pictures of our house decorated at night. We have the large lights that go around the whole back. We love to decorate. I think our house looks like a gingerbread house when it is all done....ah

My new plant has found a home...

So the plant that Grandma Rossey got going for me has a new home. I hope this gets the correct amount of whatever she was goind, beacuse it looks great where it is! Thanks Grandma Rossey :)

Home Sweet Home!

We had a nice time in Pennsylvania, but it is wonderful to be home! To enjoy the decorations we put up before we left and to see the anticipation on the boys faces that Christmas is around the corner. These are our villages that we have collected over the 13 years Rich and I have been married. They are everywhere.....and I love it! I wish we could keep them up all year long. This is the time to be thankful for what the Lord has given you. To love and share with your family. It is not about material gifts but the gifts that we can do everyday!

Tennessee here we come!

We left on Saturday to head back home. We were packed into the van like sardines! Karley was in her crate though, so it was nice to not have her sitting on our heads. We ate at Cracker Barrel and she did not break out. So it was a good trip home. Trenton wanted to stop and take a picture of Dinosaur World. He started looking for it in Columbus!

Finally SNOW!!!!!

So finally on Friday afternoon we got a dusting of snow. Snow is snow though. Trenton was so happy!! We got Karley out there to be our sled dog. She did pretty good, but would have rather wrestled with them. It was freezing, but we had a blast!

Happy Thanksgiving!

After watching the Macy's Thanksgiving day parade, the cooking started! Wow what a feast we had on Thanksgiving. I think we had the largest bowl of macaroni and cheese Pennsylvania has ever had. Still no snow though....

Bakers are we!

What would Thanksgiving be without pie? Wednesday night we baked all of our pies for the next day. This year Tucker wanted to help. He helped make the crusts and then helped Daddy mix up the pumpkin batter. Fun in the kitchen is what the holidays is about!

Horse Riding...

What would a visit to Grandma and Grandpas house be without a ride on a horse? Since we had no snow on Wednesday the boys got to to go for a ride by themselves....well Grandma and Grandpa led the horses. Rich and I stayed back and put up the Christmas tree. They had a wonderful time, even though it started raining on them and Tucker was scared about bears in the woods, other than that they had a good time.

Fun with Grandma and Grandpa

We surprised Grandma and Grandpa coming up a little early on Monday. On Tuesday we went to go see Grandma Rossey and went to Wendy's. I forgot the dumb camera, so no pictures of this fun trip. We got to see Logan, Doug, Aunt Emma and Jamie. Grandma Rossey gave me a spider plant, see upcoming pictures, and we were amazed by her poinsettia plant! Wednesday we watched a 3d move that Grandma had bought. The glasses really did not work, but we looked cool. Trenton and Grandpa played with the train on Wednesday also. Still no snow though.....

To Grandmothers house we go...and Grandpas...

So we went to Pennsylvania for Thanksgiving this year. It is always nice to get away from home for a little bit and see our family. We were a little stressed this trip with Karley out of her crate....the whole 12 hours! We will not be doing that again! It rained the whole time we drove up. No snow yet. My kids are always on the snow hunt when we go and see Grandma and Grandpa, even in the summer!

Indian outlaw!!

Karley found a brown marker and decided to be festive and look the part of the Indian. It must have really exhausted her, because she was out most of the cooking!

Thansksgiving spread....

We had so much food! Actually to much food! Well.... not really but we had a ton! We had a great time and it was fun. So much food that we had to use the fireplace to but the food at. I wanted to have a "Martha Stewart" table, but not having a dining room, we had to move into the living room. We moved the coffee table out and moved the dinner table in. It all worked out nicely and we got to all eat together at the tale.

Fried Turkey!!!

So the Gharing household had their Thanksgiving dinner this Saturday. We cook our dinner the weekend before we go to Rich's parents house. One, we do it just so we can cook and then 2) we do it so we do not have to cook any this upcoming week when we start to decorate for Christmas. It is fend for yourself. Usually it is only us, but this year I invited my parents to come over. Josh brought his turkey fryer over and fried a turkey, we also had a roasted bird. It took forever! It never did get cooked all the way. We had a 22 pound turkey to fry. Apparently, it did not like its hot oil treatment!

Hopping joint...

You know this is a hopping joint. Either someone is walking the halls, snoring or fighting. This is what was going on last night. Richard, the love of my life, snoring. Trenton fighting sleep and trying to keep himself awake. Karley, trying to decide if she wants to tear her pillow up. Which she did later that night. Tucker.....who for some reason got out of his bed and fell asleep on the floor. May I say that he was sleeping in our bed when I sent him to his room. When I woke him up from his resting place, the floor, he put his arm in the air and said he did not know where he was, but was really tired. He is my child, I have to fix my hair into a volcano you know.....long story, another time!

Sunday baking...and a fire.

Well the fat holiday has official began. Today Rich and I started our baking. I baked zucchini bread, a pear tart and he baked pistachio and cranberry cookies.(My all time favorite holiday cookie.) After we were done baking I put in a pork roast in our favorite white 9X13 pan. We started playing a game and I noticed that it looked like the pan had cracked. We continue to play and then I open the oven and the pan has cracked right down the middle and the dripping have started on fire in the oven. After dancing around the kitchen we pulled out the aluminum foil and took it outside. Danger averted. But this makes me think about a fire extinguisher and the thought that we do not have one. And the thought of wondering how much one is.....because in this house things go in threes. That is all I am saying about that. Trenton lips BURNT, the aluminum foil BURNT. What is next? I guess I could count the pan as BURNT, and that would be my three......lets go with that!
