Looks the same:(

Ok, so it is the 7th day of our vacation and the tree looks the same as on the 6th. This is not how this week is suppose to be. Apparently the bar on the chainsaw is bad and needs to be changed. I think the only bar that is needed in this house is the one that serves drinks! Whatever. I guess we are suppose to relax this week, but how can you relax when you are just waiting for the tree to come through the back window? We are suppose to have bad storms tonight, but we have "rednecked" the tree, so hopefully hold it. What is "rednecking" the tree you ask? It has a ratchet strap around it, I guess it better than duct tape!

Lumberjackin'

Paul Bunyan has nothing on us, except his chainsaw worked. (I guess he used an ax, that is why his always worked.)We got the branch that was broken off the tree, but we think the whole tree has to come down. In the words of Clark Griswold in Christmas vacation..."'my tree". We would have cut the whole thing down this afternoon, but the dumb chainsaw chain would not move. Maybe it was a sign that we needed to stop for the night. It did start raining, so maybe God was telling us we needed to stop. Rich and I planted both of those trees at the same time. We made the pond around that tree. Tucker likes to draw under that tree. Trenton loves to climb that tree. It is amazing how something that you really never think about has so many memories for you. Oh well, I guess the theme of this year is, life goes on......

Look what was waiting for us!

Apparently.... we had a storm come through and break our Bradford Pear Tree down the middle. Thank God it did not hit the house or the pool. It came only about 6 inches from the boys window. That would not have been good to come home and had to install a window tonight. The Lord is always looking out for us. We may think he has forgotten us or overlooked us, he is always there. I guess we have firewood now for some campfires! Always try to find the lining in the storm clouds! :)

There is no place like home!

You know on the Wizard of Oz when Dorothy clicks her heels and says "there is no place like home"? She was so right. It is always nice to travel somewhere but it is always better to see that Tennessee sign welcoming you back. 12 hours is a long time in the car. Thank the Lord we are home!

Thanks for the memories!

From the Tennessee Gharing's to the Pennsylvania Gharing's, Thank you so much for all the fun. We truly had a wonderful visit. We love you and hope to see you soon!

Just plain fun!

We had a great day on Monday just relaxing . We watched Abby, our little cousin, for a little bit and then the boys had to ride the horses before we left. The weather was wonderful and we enjoyed every minute of it! We ended the day, grilling hamburgers and eating outside! My compliments to the chef! It was great!

Ok not everything was peaches and cream!

Everyone has to work. But I pity these people. They worked 4 shows and two of them had to dress up like Wally and Wendy the Waldameer mascots. Tucker's face says it all!

Oh boy! Waldameer!!!

We absolutely had a fantastic time on Saturday at Waldameer. We rode every ride there....some of the two or three times! it was so much to spend the time with Rich's parents. It was nice to have fun with them and spend time with each other. The boys will always remember the fun we had on that Saturday! As Trenton would say...It was AWESOME!

Fun with Grandma and Gramps!

Wow! We packed alot into one day! Saturday we left for Erie. We started out in the bay of Lake Erie. We drove out onto the pier and looked at the boats and the water. It started to rain on us, but we would not let it dampen our fun!

Chores first, fun second!

Since Grandma and Grandpa live on a farm, fun has to wait until the chores are finished. Fortunately, one of my boys thinks chores are fun. So Grandma and Grandpa always has a shadow while they do chores. Does Tucker not look so cute with those boots on?

Finally!!!

Thank God....we made it! Safe and sound to the great state of Pennsylvania! GET ME OUT OF THIS VAN!!!!

We all need a break!

Ok...so riding in a van is not as much fun as you would thinkit was. All the technology in the world cannot help a 10 and 7 year old boredom. Since this is Kalrey's first trip we decided that we would pack a lunch and let her work out some puppy energy. I think though it all worked out for all off us. The boys got to run and get dirty and mom and dad got to stretch their legs a little bit. So far so good!!

We are off to see the wizard!

Well....we are off to Pennsylvania to see Rich's parents for a few days. We left a little later than we wanted to but we got going at about 4:00. Since Pennsylvania is an hour ahead we are always trying to catch up with ourselves! The boys and Karley were packing in and ready for the 12 hour drive. Even though we are stuck in a car for that long, it is just nice to all be together and the anticipation on seeing Grandma and Grandpa makes it even better!

Great weekend!

We had a wonderful weekend. The weather here in Tennessee was abnormally cool. Both Saturday and Sunday were in the low 80's. It was really nice, but it put you in mind of fall. We took 2 walks this weekend with Karlie, trying to settle her down. These were both taken on Saturday. Trenton and Tucker decided that they were super heroes and Karley decided to get to know the pony. (The mother horse did not want her to be friends with her pony though.) It was a wonderful relaxing weekend.

As scary as this picture is....we are SO ready for vacation!! That is all I have to say.

9 more days!

So, today we went over the 10 day mark to vacation! Thank the good lord. We are so ready just to have some family time. I mean how can you not want to spend time with these three? We are so blesses to have such wonderful boys. Everyday I thank God for giving me the these sweet babies. It is amazing to me how people take this time with their children for granted. There is a country song that is called "It won't be like this for long", that song is so true. There will come a time when they will not want to hang with mom and dad. Let's live in the moment and remember it will not be like this for long.

Poor Emie!

So, today did not turn out the way I thought it would. It started out well, but went South quickly. Amerly, our niece, fell off the pool deck at my mom's house and we thought she dislocated her elbow. My mom calls me and asks what she needs to do, I tell her I will meet her at the hospital. Well after a long ER visit, multiple x-rays and a morphine shot she had to have emergency surgery. Amerly broke her elbow clean and had to have 2 pins put in. Bless her little heart she only cried once and that was when we told her that the hospital did not have root beer. Just shows you how to an adult something looks huge but to a kid, it is just an ant hill. I wish we all could look at things that way. I guess that is why kids are put on the earth, to teach us a lesson every once in a while.

24.4 pounds!!!

So Karley had her first Vet appointment yesterday. When Rich got there I did not know how this visit was going to go, she was all meek getting out of the truck. Then when we got into the office she went WILD. She was licking the floor, barking, trying to get out of her harness, wanting to play with the BIG dogs (who did not really look like they wanted to play with her). I am not sure what she was doing, but goodness. She was the same in the small little room they put us in. Dr. Ellis said she was perfect. I asked how big she thought she would be and she laughed. She said if she grows into her feet, she is going to be a pretty good size. OH DEAR! She weighed 24.4 pounds. Klondike only weighed 42 pounds. Well, we love her anyways. Do she not look like she is smiling in this picture? Cracks me up! Wow....24 pounds at 14 weeks????

The deck is WONDERFUL!!!

Well it has been a whole week since Rich finished the deck. I am just now getting in on the blog because we have enjoyed it every night. It has been so nice to sit under it at night and not have the evening sun blazing on you. What a joy a roof makes!

Happy Birthday Trenton!

Today is my sweet boy Trenton's 10th birthday! I cannot believe that 10 years ago tonight at 10:42 he was born. I still remember the day we found out that we were going to have a little pumpkin. We were so happy to have an addition to our family. He is such a blessing. He always has something funny to say. He loves to watch movies and eat popcorn. We love him and wish for him to have a wonderful birthday. We love Trentie!!

Betcha didn't know...

So, I got this cool idea from another blog site that went into detail about what you may or may not know about me and the fam. So I decided I was going to do this for Patch of Heaven, so here it goes....

Betcha didn't know that......
* Tucker loves to cuddle with his mom. He does not like to cuddle with his dad, because he has armpit hair.
* Trenton still sleeps with the blanket that his great aunt Neice gave him when he was born.
* Rich could eat pizza every night and it never get old.
* Amber hates doing laundry and one day will invent disposable clothing.
* Trenton is a night owl.
*Tucker is not a night owl.
*Rich can fall asleep quicker than anyone I know.
*Amber has insomnia....(what mother does not?)

This is harder than I thought....maybe we are just open books???

Trenton's birthday party!

Well today was not only the 4th of July, today was also the day we celebrated Trenton's 10th birthday. I cannot believe that he is 10....well not until Tuesday the 7th. I can still remember when he was born. So sweet and innocent. I love that kid! He had a great day! He got his Bumblebee gun and mask like he wanted. Now Tucker can be Optimus Prime and Trenton can be Bumblebee!

Happy 4th of July!

Happy 4th of July! We had such a great day today. The weather was beautiful and was not too hot. My mom, dad, April, Josh, Amerly, Caden and Olivia came over. We had hamburgers and hot dogs. The kids swam and we shot off fireworks. After everyone left Rich and I sat on the new covered deck and enjoyed the rain. It was a great day to celebrate our Independence!
