Patch of Heaven Update...

Since I have not blogged in a while I thought I would bring you up to speed on what has been happening at Patch of Heaven. today was parent teacher conferences. We met with Ms. Keith, Trenton's resource teacher and Mrs. Bumphus, his 4th grade teacher. They both said he was doing great. He is only on about a 2nd grade level, but he is doing good. He has a problem with one girl in his class. She goes to Ms. Keith's class also, so he does not get a break from her. Rich met with Mrs. Anderson, Tucker's teacher, on Friday. She said he is doing well. The only thing she said that he needs to work on his counting with his fingers. They use touch point, which is counting the points on the numbers. Fingers and toes still work though. It is almost Fall break. We are all very excited to be off for a few days. We are going to work on the boys room. Painting and cleaning the closet. I do not know if they are ready for it, but mom and dad are. It is wonderful to do an indoor project. We will have lots of pictures on the progress of it. Karley is getting bigger and dumber as the days go by. Her new trick is getting into the shower with us. Not much of a trick. For a dog that we could not get into the pool this summer, she sure does want to get into the water. Things are going well, hope all is well in your neck of the woods!

Welcome Fall!

Well it is finally here....FALL! Today was the first day that the boys wore jeans to school. It was a nice fall day. Only in the lower 70's and BEAUTIFUL! There is nothing better than a clear blue Tennessee day.

152 days of school left!

Just for the record the boys only have 152 days left of school. YES!!! In a week and half they have fall break. We are hoping to go camping, paint the boys room and hopefully have a restful week. Hopefully, this dang rain will stop before we have their break. This is what the sky has looked like for the last 9 days. Look at the concern in the boys eyes, they are stressed about how the yard looks.....oh wait that is their mother! WE HAVE MUSHROOMS growing in our yard!! I NEED TO MOW GOD!! Thank you for the rain, but I would love the cut that stuff down!

Bored to sleep!

Today was a lazy kind of day. We watched the UT game, we lost :( , and did nothing. Karley was a little bored with the whole yelling and screaming thing though. She decided to crawl up on the foot stool and fall asleep, falling off the thing. I think she still thinks she is still a small little puppy.

Just call us Noah!

So on Thursday we had a little bit of rain....or not! We had some flooding on Patch of Heaven. We have not seen this much rain for 8 years. It crested the road before it got to close to the house, thank the Lord. There were several houses in the Christiana area that had to be evacuated, but there were no deaths or serious injuries. All this rain happened within 3 hours. When I got off work that afternoon, all of it had gone down. I do not think I will be able to mow anytime soon. Rain is in the forecast for the next 7 days! We better start the ark!

September's random pictures.......

So I decided that once a month I am going to put random pictures that are taken on the camera. Usually these will be taken by Trenton or Tucker. These this month were from Tucker. He got the camera while we were doing dishes and folding clothes. They are pretty good, thank goodness we do not have to pay to get them developed though..... :)

It's fall ya'll!

Well we decorated for fall today. The first day of fall is not for another 10 days, but since we covered the pool today it just felt right. Karley was not really sure what was going on. I think she tried to eat 3 or 4 fake fall leaves, but she did not chew anything up.

Happy Grandparents day!

Happy Grandparents day to our grandma and grandpa or nana and pa and also granny. Thank yo for all you do for us! We love you! Trenton and Tucker

What a sweet pup!

So Karley and I have not been getting along here this week. Her bark makes me want to hurt her. Today we gave her a bath and she looked so cute. Her ears make her look and stupid though. But i have to say any other ears would look or stupid on her. She does drive me nuts but I do love her....but do not tell her! :)

Fall???

I think this is the longest geese V....um U....I have ever seen. Trenton spotted it tonight at the school. I hope this is a sign that fall is just around the corner!

Back to school bash!

So tonight Christiana Elementary had their back to school bash. We had so much fun. We paid $5.00 for an armband and the boys got to jump as many times as they wanted on the inflatables. I think it was a real success. Their socks will probably never be the same, but they had a blast....as you can see! :)

What a diffrence!

Wow! What a difference a coat of paint makes. Today we put the finishing touches on the shed. We are so good at procrastinating! I think it looks great! Rich attached the rooster to the cupola. We had it hanging on the mailbox, but the chain rusted, so we are all about recycling. Tomorrow is cleaning it out to make room for the pool pump! Yippee!

Fun with the kiddos...

After we left Rich, I took the boys to the playground in Shelbyville. They had a great time. There really were not many people there, so they had the park pretty much to ourselves. When they were hot an sweaty we went to get a happy meal from McDonald's and then rented a movie out of the redbox and headed home. It is so nice to spend a fun day with them. Sometimes I feel we do not have many fun days, but work days. Rich and I are always doing some sort of project in the yard or in the house. One day we will look back and wonder where the time has gone. I love these two more than life itself, I just hope that the will look back on their childhood and remember these days.

Happy Labor Day!

Well not everyone has Labor day off. Rich had to work today, so the boys and I drove down at his 9:30 lunch and spent a little time with him. He may not get the day off but he does get 10 hours to spend as a vacation day. He is a good man and though he had to work I hope he had a good day!

No wonder!

Ok on Friday Trenton and Tucker were.....WILD! Trenton stayed up until 4:00 in the morning watching the boobtube, Tucker was bouncing off the walls and we wondered why. And then it hit me Full Moon. This is why things just were a little hairy in our home. Thank goodness this only comes around once a month....or does it?
