Our newest project...

I finally got Rich to agree with me that we need to cover our deck. (The women always wins) So we decided on the hottest weekend of the year...like Africa hot... to start on this. After church we started putting the posts down and adding a header. (A term I just learned). It looks good. We have my family coming over for the Fourth of July, so I hope it is done by then. Rich and I both have Friday off, so we will be working until it is finished. I am just glad to get it covered, like I wanted! :)

Transformers!

WOW, we went to see Transformers 2 today. I never thought I would cry over a dumb robot. I will not give details, but it was a great movie. 2 and half hours long....but worth it! We enjoyed it and will probably see it a second time. Great Great GREAT!!!!

It is finished!

Tonight was it for Crocodile Rock. It actually was a good week. Just time comsuming and tiresome. The kids had a great time, that all that matters though. I told the church I would do it again next year. She asked me in the glow of the end. I think she planned that right from the beginning. it truly was an experience and I will never forget all those smiling little faces tonight with their glow sticks "This little light of mine". It was a good week, but I am sure glad it is over!

One more day!

We just have one more night of VBS. This has been an enjoyable week, but I am so ready for it to be over. It does not end when we leave the church. For me this week, my nights have been until about 1:30. Not enough sleep for this girl. At least it is almost over. Trenton and Tucker have had so much fun. Tonight I have to burn 50 CD's with all the songs the band has played over the week. Tucker knows every song there is on the CD. Trenton only wants to know the ones with the drums. He asked for a set for Christmas....I do not think so.

It's the final countdown!

We are down to two more nights of VBS. I have enjoyed directing this year, but I really did not think it would be so tiresome. The kids have all had a great time, so that is what matters most. They really have learned some great things this week. Our theme is Fear not, God loves you. Which is so fitting for Rich and I lately. Even though things are rough knowing that God is there and we do not need to fear, he will see us through. It is a comforting thought. This week may be wearisome but Fear Not...God is always there!

Happy Father's Day!

Haapy Father's Day! Today we celebrated today with doing....nothing! i have worked my husband these last 2 days. Bless his heart, the man will do anything I ask him to. My dad, can to the kickoff so it was nice to have him there. I did play a cruel joke on him though. I think I gave him the worst game to look over. It was the sludge race, the kids had to run and fill up these jars with water to the line. Of course the water sloshed everywhere. When he was done it looked like he had wet his pants. But you know what? I think he actually enjoyed himself. It was great to have him there. We did not get to see Rich's dad today though. We will celebrate Father' s Day when we go up in July. He have to celebrate Mother's day, Father's Day, Rich's dads 60th birthday and maybe Mathew's birthday. he will be one in August. I am not sure if that will happen, but definitely the others. We are going to party till we drop, give me a Benadryl it won't take long! Happy Father's Day ....WE LOVE YOU!!!

It's here!!

Today was the big kickoff for VBS. I am so glad that it seems like it was a success. The kids seemed like they had fun. It was so hot, I actually told the kids to throw water balloons at me. Of course I am quite a target! Tomorrow starts the week off with a bang at 6:00. 5 days and 10 hours and 30 minutes until VBS is done and over with for 2009.

You know it's hot!

I know where the phrase "hot dog" comes from. Today it was a scorcher! I think it was 95 in the shade! Karley wold go out for a little while and then come in, get a drink and throw herself on the air condition vent. I swear the dog has no brain....she is in the right family!

I weigh how much?

Look who we caught weighing herself? Can you believe that she is concerned with her weight? Why Karley was standing on the scale is beyond me. She looks depressed though, I should know I get the same look when I am on it!

I learned something new!

I finally got one night that I could just play on the computer and look what I did. I changed the whole look of our blog page. I think it looks very up to date. Amazing what I can do with a little quiet time....like it will happen again!

It begins.....VBS

Today was the first actual thing I did as VBS director, our first staff meeting.....which was horrible. I apparently should have researched a little more on what they did last year. My mistake, will not happen again though. The only thing that really turned out great was the watermelon crocodile that Rich did for me. He is so talented. He can do just about anything I ask him to do. I gave him an idea and this is what he made it into. He was great and it really put a great touch to our Dock treats. I just love him! I hope this week goes by quickly, VBS has not started and I am ready for it to be over!

Half Day Tuesday...

We decided today that if Rich got off at a decent time that we would all meet back home early. Thank the good lord he was off at 12:00. He drove out to get Trenton and Tucker and we met back at the house. I left work at 1:30 and came home and cleaned the pool. We all relaxed and swam for about 2 hours. It was nice to have a little bit of down time from our weekend. Rich fell asleep by the pool, I floated and the boys of course fought the whole time. It really did not matter, I would have rather listen to there bickering than to be at work! :)

New beginnings....

Well...when you see an Easter lilly it usually means Easter is around the corner. Easter to me means a new beginning. Christ died for our sins and was raised from the dead and promised to return for us one day. Lillies to me show that promise of better things ahead. How fitting it is to me that this weekend, our lillies bloomed. It has truly been a heart warming weekend. Things have looked up in our home. Karley has helped us get over a rough spot, but I think the good lord had a hand in it also. The lillies prove it.

The big little project...

Well....what started out as a small addition onto the shed, has turned into a two weekend, back breaking, originaztional mess. We have worked on this project and is still not finished. One thing it looks really good and we have so much more room. The only thing we have behind the thing is the trailer. Miracles do happen....now if we could only finish!

Meet Karley....

Well ....as you know this has been a very hard week for us. Klondike has left a huge hole in our hearts and home. We have come home at night and just felt like there was something missing. Not that we can replace Klondike, but we just missed her SO much. So we decided that it would be a good decision to look for a puppy. A puppy that we could mold into the dog that our family needs. So, we went on Petfinder.com and found Samantha. When we found out that Samantha, Karley's sister, was already taken we decided to go and look at some other puppies that she had. Karley was at a no kill rescue/shelter in Jackson County, Alabama. 1 1/2 hours away. This is a no cost donation only facility. Which was evn better. She is so worth the drive. She is precious! The boys love her, Rich loves her and so do I. She is a lab/husky mix (just like Klondike) a cream color and has green eyes. What a gift we have received. No one or puppy could replace Klondike, but Karley is differently a healing hand from God.

Life goes on...

Well...it has been a very hard week for all of us. I did not think this week would ever end. But life does go on. Rich has been hard at work adding on to the shed. We have so much junk behind the shed we needed a place to hide it.....I mean put it. We are adding the same amount of space as the existing shed. It looks great. Trenton has really gotten into helping. I think he just wants to be on the roof. More pictures of this to come. As everything in our home it is a work in process.
